Hey all! We thought we would start out this Christmas blogging season by talking all about our favourite Christmas songs! Hopefully, you find something new to listen to this December! It is now socially acceptable to play Christmas music 24/7 but to be honest we start sneaking in a song or two as soon as… Continue reading The Top 10 Best Christmas Songs!

Embracing Early Autumn
Did you feel it? Last week, when the breeze shifted and the light changed, and the air was scented with the first, the very earliest, hints of fall. The best part of being a country dweller is the easy access to the outdoors. I spend a lot of time observing things. From the glistening… Continue reading Embracing Early Autumn
Christmas in July? Oh My!
Emma People hate when you talk about Christmas basically any time of year but December. I know this because I tend to talk about Christmas year-round and I get to see the ensuing reactions. But I feel strongly that a huge part of the reason so many people get so stressed out by Christmas… Continue reading Christmas in July? Oh My!
Christmas Traditions and LCBO Holiday Picks
My partner K and I have a lot of Christmas traditions and we seem to add more and more every year almost effortlessly. I think that is how traditions should be, you should never say "We are going to do this and it will be a tradition" instead one year you do something and it… Continue reading Christmas Traditions and LCBO Holiday Picks
25 Next Level Advent Calendars You Can Actually Get in Stores in Canada!
Every year I get excited about what over the top advent Calender I'm going to buy but then I end up not buying anything because I'm either a) disappointed with the selection or b) way too cheap to spend $200 bucks on an advent calendar. In the UK there seems to be an infinite selection of advent calendars in all sorts of styles and price ranges, whereas here in Canada unless you put some work into obtaining it, it's mostly just chocolate. There is definitely more selection of chocolate then there was when I was a kid (now there are Reeses, Kinder, Smarties, Lindor etc.) and thank god for that because 99 cent advent calendar chocolate tastes like chocolate flavoured candle wax! But here I have collected 24 next level advent calenders that you can actually walk into a store and buy in Canada in 2018.

Autumn As the first leaves start to change in early October I begin to anticipate the full richness of the colour At first, there are only a few early adopters and I get anxious for more. There is always a brief moment when Mother Nature loses her mind and reverts to summer weather for a… Continue reading An Intro to Comfort and Joy by Nancy!
An Intro to Comfort and Joy by Emma!
For a long time, my Mum and I have wanted to start a website where we blog about all things Christmas. I’m excited about this, I think about it all the time, but to be honest, I’m also very nervous about it. My obsession with Christmas, with holidays in general really, is intrinsically tied to… Continue reading An Intro to Comfort and Joy by Emma!
Jack-O-logs
Truthfully I'm not the biggest fan of Halloween. When my kids were little it was great fun, dressing them up, taking them trick or treating, stealing the good candy after they went to bed... but I am unlikely to be seen dressed up as Raggedy Ann pushing a cart around my grocery store just… Continue reading Jack-O-logs
Fall Decor Apartment Makeover!
For my whole PhD, I was super broke but I always tried to inject a little bit of the season into my decor. Sometimes that was through plants and flowers, sometimes it was a vase full of easter eggs, sometimes it’s pineapple print tablecloths, sometimes it was a pumpkin shaped punch bowl. Seasonal decor makes… Continue reading Fall Decor Apartment Makeover!
8 Tips for Hosting an All Day Halloween Movie Marathon!
For the past 3 or 4 years, my partner and I have always held a movie marathon on the Saturday of Halloween weekend. Neither of us are really big on going out on Halloween (I refuse to stand in line for a bar EVER) so it kind of all started as a place for our… Continue reading 8 Tips for Hosting an All Day Halloween Movie Marathon!
